White Paper: Stand und Entwicklungstendenzen bei elektrisch betriebenen Linienbussen

Die Welt der elektrischen Bussysteme ist in Bewegung, mehr denn je. Neue Entwicklungen, wie die Ladung von Batteriebussen während der Fahrt, treffen auf schon bestehende Lösungsansätze mit punktuellen Ladesystemen. Bisher setzte sich keine Standardlösung für elektrische Busse durch, wie das bei Bussystemen mit Verbrennungsmotoren seit langem der Fall ist. Ein wichtiger Grund hierfür ist, dass elektrischer Verkehr – ganz gleich ob mit Fahrleitung, Batterien oder Brennstoffzellen - immer eine umfangreiche Infrastruktur erfordert, deren Errichtung und Betrieb wirtschaftlich sein müssen. Tychy [PL] - Three new battery trolleys on order

18.01.18 - On 15 January 2018, the local public transport operator TLT announced that Solaris had placed a successful bid to supply three new 12 m long single units worth 6.9 million PLN (roughly 1.65 million EUR). Final delivery is expected to take place within 10 months of contract signing. ... more

Gdynia [PL] - 30 new trolleys on order

08.01.18 - In December 2017, the local public transport operator PKT announced that it would order 30 new trolleybuses from Solaris. 16 of these low-floor vehicles will be articulated, while the contract also includes stipulations for 21 slightly older trolleys to be retrofitted with more powerful traction batteries. This upgrade will significantly boost the off-wire capability of the municipal trolleybus fleet, thus allowing the extension of trolleybus lines without the use of overhead catenary. Odesa/Odessa [UA] - First of 47 new trolleys has arrived

08.01.18 - On 20 December 2017 the first of 47 new trolleys arrived in the city. These are being supplied by Belkommunmash and are financed through a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The total procurement is valued at 8.037 million EUR. ... more

Jihlava [CZ] - Trolleybus network extended

04.12.17 - On 30 November 2017, a 1.4 km long network extension was ceremoniously inaugurated with a special run along Vrchlického Street. The new network section connects the hospital stop Poliklinika along line C to Horní Kosov with the railway station Staré Hory. As part of the new timetable, line B now serves the new extension. Additionally, the newly launched line D runs every 24 minutes from the main railway station to Poliklinika, while the new line F runs from the depot via the city center to the new turning loop at Poliklinika. Das "TROLLEY" - Video

The TROLLEY movie is another piece of the puzzle of the promotion activities of the "TROLLEY"-project to shape a new and more positive image of trolleybuses in Europe. The movie is based on interviews with local and regional stakeholders, which were performed in the TROLLEY partner cities Salzburg (Austria), Brno (Czech Republic), Eberswalde (Germany), Parma (Italy), Gdynia (Poland) and Szeged (Hungary). The movie highlights advantages of trolleybuses and raises hopes in what could be improved in the future to raise awareness of trolleybuses as smart, clean and green solution for urban public transportation.
